Thank you for visiting us at NAVAJO PAWN.
We specialize in Native American Turquoise Jewelry. We
have been collecting and wearing handmade Sterling
Silver and Turquoise Jewelry made by the Navajo, Zuni,
and Santo Domingo Indian Tribes for many, many years.
At the NAVAJO PAWN we love Turquoise Jewelry. The
history and feel of the "Old West" is enchanting. The
family history of past generations settling in the West,
interacting, and trading Turquoise Jewelry with the local
Native Americans, have been practiced for generations.
Some of the pieces offered on our site are very old (turn of
the 19th Century or before), some are vintage and were
made at the early part of the 20th Century. We have
identified each piece of jewelry with as much information
as possible. We also support the Native American
community by offering pieces handmade by New Native
American Artists.
We provide a certification of authenticity with each piece
of Turquoise Jewelry. "Old Pawn" & "Vintage"
Turquoise Jewelry comes with a copy of the story of "Old
Pawn", region of origin and maker.

"OLD PAWN" Southwestern Native American, pawn refers to the practice of converting turquoise jewelry, artwork and possessions into income for life’s necessities. Pawn can also be items from antiquity, heirloom pieces of hand made Turquoise Jewelry or craft, passed from a family into the public marketplace. Because much of the pawned merchandise is of real Day- to-day value in the seller’s life, the percentage of pawn that goes unredeemed is small, about five percent. Merchandise that remains for sale after the expiration is Referred to as “Old Pawn”, and Turquoise Jewelry of “Old Pawn” are among the most highly valued Native American Artifacts to be found in the open market today.

"God Bless America" in Navajo
The Program supports the traditional Elders who live in the cultural and spiritual
traditions of The Dine' People. Most live in remote portions of the Dine's (Navajo)
reservation. Many live in traditional hogans, and some raise sheep as a means of
maintaining themselves. The Program provides food, simple medicines, clothing,
fabric and yarns to help these Elders live on the Land in their traditional lifestyle.
As they have become elderly, it has become more difficult for them to support
themselves on the Land in their traditional ways.
